The following ideas may make the Find window easier to use depending on the searches you do:
- Remove icons from the Find window’s toolbar for criteria you never use in searches. This will allow the window to open faster and allow you to identify those criteria you do use more easily.
- If the window is not wide enough to display all of the items in the toolbar, the ones on the right are put into an overflow menu. Move the icons for the criteria you use most to the left side of the toolbar so when items are forced into the overflow menu they represent lesser used criteria.
- Configure the Find window to display the criteria you use regularly, hide the toolbar, and turn individual criteria on and off as you need them.
Remember that even if a criterion’s icon is not in the toolbar you can still add or remove that criterion by opening a contextual menu in most of the window and selecting the name of the desired criteria.
